The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is expected to announce the new Chief Secretary of Telangana on the 29th of December.
K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, who is currently on a one day visit to Karimnagar, would return to Hyderabad on the night of the 30th of December. After coming back to Hyderabad, he is expected to announce the name of the new Chief Secretary.
The new Chief Secretary would take over the new position on the 1st of January, 2020, a day after S.K. Joshi, the outgoing Chief Secretary, is scheduled to retire. Mr. Joshi would retire on the 31st of December.
Ajay Mishra and Somesh Kumar are top names proposed for the new Chief Secretary of Telangana. If appointed, Ajay Mishra would serve for 7 months as he is scheduled to retire in July 2020, whereas Somesh Kumar would serve for three years as his retirement is due in December 2023.
The final decision would be taken today after KCR returns from his Karimnagar tour.
While the name would be announced today, the official notification regarding the same would be issued on the 31st of December, 2019.
