In view of  The Kerala Story release, the Hyderabad City Police have tightened security near multiplexes and theaters.

Cinema halls screening The Kerala Story would witness a force of police to avoid any untoward incidents during or after the screening of the movie.

Addressing the media, a police officer from Kachiguda Police Station confirmed that constables are being deployed at theaters in Hyderabad to ensure the safety and security of moviegoers and the general public.

The decision to put up a force came after the controversy regarding the film, starring Adah Sharma.  Ever since the release of its trailer, the film has been in news due to its alleged communal content including the claims that 32,000 Kerala women were converted as ISIS terrorist.  Many citizens of Kerala, including Christians and Muslims raised their voices, alleging the film depicts a story which is hurting religious sentiments and are not fact based.

A bunch of petitions were also filed in the Kerala High Court and the Supreme Court, demanding a stay on the release of the film.  However, both the Apex Court and the Kerala High Court, dismissed the petitions, saying there was nothing controversial or inappropriate with the film and its content.  In addition, to avoid further controversy and bashing, the makers of The Kerala Story agreed to remove the 32,000 women claim from its trailer.

Released on the 5th of May, Friday, the film depicts a story of three girls, based in Kerala, who were brainwashed and forced to convert religion and join as ISIS terrorists, as per their will, and is drawing attention of the audience despite hue and cry of ban demand.

Despite controversy, the film in just one day had a box office collection of over Rs. 8 crores.
