The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted light to moderate rainfall in the coastal region of Andhra Pradesh, for the next two days.
According to the IMD officials, not only Andhra Pradesh but isolated regions of Telangana would also receive rains along with thundershowers in the next 48 hours. In Hyderabad, maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be lower than usual, below 25 degrees Celsius.
Furthermore, the reason behind the sudden rain is due to the surface basin which extended from western Vidarbha through Marathwada to the northern interior of Karnataka, extending at an average elevation of 0.9 km above sea level. Due to this, the two Telugu states would witness light to moderate rainfall. While in Telangana, the rain would continue till the 18th of April, in Andhra Pradesh, major parts would witness rain for the next 24 hours, till the 16th of April.
Meanwhile, the Amravati Meteorological Department has forecasted light rains in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, Yanam, West Godavari, Prakasam, YSR Kadapa Anantapur, and Kurnool districts.
