Pithapuram: Jana Sena alleged conspiracy in appointment of returning officer of Pithapuram assembly constituency. They alleged that YSRCP is using secret forces to defeat the Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan who wishes to contest from Pithapuram.
Legal cell of the Jana Sena party filed a complaint with the chief electoral officer expressing certain doubts. They alleged that officials close to them were appointed as returning officers.
Usually ERO will act as returning officer of the assembly segment. But the collectorate sent a proposal with two separate names for ERO and RO at Pithapuram. Kakinada vice chairman K Subba Rao is proposed as ERO and Joint collector Praveen Aditya is named as RO.
Jana Sena alleged that transfer of PRaveen is illegal and an officer who worked for more than 4 years is placed in the same district. They cited the statements of a ruling party MLA over defeating Pawan Kalyan as base for their allegations.
