Kodali Sri Venkateshwara Rao, also known as Kodali Nani, the Civil Supply and Consumer Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the 4th of September, fumed at the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.) 

Minister Kodali Nani criticised TDP for their baseless comments against the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government over the cash transfer scheme for free electricity.

Kodali Nani said the YSRCP Government had paid the pending arrears left by the previous TDP Government.

He said, “We are setting up a power grid of 10,000 MW for farmers.  Their Government (the YSRCP) has paid the arrears of Rs 8,000 crore.” he said. 

On the 3rd of September, the YSRCP Government conducted a Cabinet meeting and decided to transfer money to the accounts of the farmers for the current charges. 

The transfer of money was approved under the  agriculture electricity cash transfer scheme. 

He said that the government will put money into that account. He said the money would be used by farmers to pay for the discoms. He said the government was fully responsible for this. 

The allegations and comments of Kodali Nani was made after Nara Lokesh, the General Secretary of TDP took to Twitter and raised questions over issues of farmers in the State.
