Amaravathi, June 15: Minister for IT and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, announced ambitious plans to transform the academic system in Andhra Pradesh. During a review meeting at his Vundavalli residence, Lokesh instructed Education Department officials to ensure all schools have basic facilities within a year.

Lokesh emphasized the completion of pending phase-2 and phase-3 projects initiated by the previous government. He also called for a report on the quality of mid-day meals, directing Mid-day Meal Scheme Director, Ambedkar, to outline steps for improvement.

The Minister requested a study on New Delhi’s school sanitation policies and a detailed analysis of student migration from government to private schools over the past five years. Additionally, Lokesh sought data on school closures and the best model libraries in the country.

He stressed the importance of transparent teacher transfers and the revival of facilities provided by the former TDP regime. Lokesh also urged officials to ensure timely distribution of educational materials and proper utilization of Central funds.

Key attendees included Principal Secretary (Education) Praveen Prakash, Intermediate Education Commissioner Sourabh Gour, and other senior officials.
