Bhimavaram: Progressive Democratic Front (PDF), MLC Shaik Sabji died in a tragic road accident at Cherukuvada village at Undi mandal of West Godavari district on Friday.
Sabji is enroute to Bhimavaram from Eluru to attend the Anganwadis strike and demonstration program. A fast moving truck from Bhimavaram to Akividu rammed into the vehicle of MLC.
Sabji died on the spot with severe head injury. Gunman, personal assistant and driver suffered severe injuries. They were shifted to Bhimavaram hospital in 108 vehicles.
Shaik Sabji was born in 1966 at Eluru. He worked as a school assistant and acted as president of the United Teachers Federation. He resigned from his job and led the Padyatra conducted by the teachers demanding abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). Sabji’s grandfather, father were also teachers.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy mourned the death of MLC Sabji. He said that the death of Sabji is a great loss to the teachers. Former chief minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, CPI state secretary K Rama Krishna mourned the death of Sabji.
