Once again Nara Lokesh, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National General Secretary criticised the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)

On the 21st of December, the TDP leader pointed out a few police vehicles, which were coloured into the YSRCP symbol colours.

This is not the first time that the opposition TDP objected to such incidents. In the past also, the TDP leaders filed petitions and opposed government building painted in the YSRCP symbol colours.

Mr. Lokesh said the police vehicles are changing to YSRCP symbol colours without any regard for the rules and governance in the State. He said the action of turning public services vehicles and government buildings into the YSRCP symbol colors is a betrayal to the people of Andhra Pradesh.

According to sources, a few police vehicles changed colours in the name of the Disha Act, which was passed by the YSRCP Government to fast track cases against women and to protect them.

Highlighting one such incident against women, Mr. Lokesh lashed out at the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said Mr. Reddy did not responded to the murder of a physically challenged woman in Ongole district.

He said lack of prompt and proper action from the State Government is giving rise to serious consequences. The atrocities on women and girls were on the rise ever since the YSRCP came to power by making empty promises to all sections of society.

Speaking of facts and figures, Nara Lokesh said in the past 18 months of Jagan Reddy misrule, over 310 atrocities took place against women.

Nara Lokesh said some overenthusiastic police were crossing all limits and they might even go to the extent of changing uniforms into YSRCP colours in the future.

In a statement, Mr. Lokesh reminded police officers to perform their duty and criticised them for such actions. He said instead of wasting their time and energy on such unwelcome activities, the State police should focus on their basic duty to protect the people

Moving ahead with criticisms, Mr. Lokesh said the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRCP has been adopting such distasteful and unwholesome activities despite strong objections from the public.

The government suffered setbacks with respect to the colours on the panchayat offices but it was not changing its habits.

The YSRCP leaders are yet to respond to the criticism of Nara Lokesh.
