Medarametla: One died in a stampede that happened at YSRCP’s Siddham public meeting held in town. Crowds pushed each other while CM YS Jagan entered the premises, which lead to the stampede.
Udaragudi Murali (30) died on the spot in the stampede. He was a sanitation worker at Ongole Municipal Corporation (OMC). Police shifted the dead body to Addanki government hospital for postmortem.
In another accident one youth Gedala Bala Durga died on the spot at Gopalapuram. Durga was returning home from the meeting on the bus. He was traveling on a footboard and fell down. Back tires of the bus crushed the body of Durga. Police registered the case and are investigating the issue.
An Assistant sub-inspector holding duty at Siddham meeting suffered a major heart stroke and he was shifted to the nearby hospital for better treatment.
YSRCP expressed grief over the death of youth in the tragic accidents.
