In Andhra Pradesh’s Srisailam region, panic triggered amongst the residents after they spotted a leopard.
On the 23rd of September, a few people sighted a leopard near Mallamma Kanneeru temple, which created tension amongst people residing near the temple area. The movements of the leopard were captured on a mobile camera and the visuals went viral on social media platforms. According to the reports, the municipal workers sighted a leopard at a dumping yard when they are going to dump the garbage in the yard.
Concern about the moving leopards, the Mallamma Kanneeru Temple authorities requested\ the devotees and locals to be alert and not to step alone at night.
In addition, villagers are expressing anger over forest officials for not taking any measures to catch the leopard.
The forest officials of the Srisailam region are yet to respond to the villagers’ claim of a leopard in the temple region. Notably, this is not the first time such an incident of sighting leopard in residential areas was reported. Earlier in August also, the people of Srisailam, Anantapur, spotted a leopard and informed the forest officials.
