Pawan Kalyan, the President of the JanaSena Party, responded to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) over the latter’s ‘three marriages’ remark against him.

On the 12th of November, Pawan Kalyan organised a press meet and slammed Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for his personal comments against Kalyan.

On the 11th of November, after the AP Government announced it would convert the government schools in the State to English medium, oppositions raised questions and criticised the same.  In response to their criticism, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy questioned the opposition parties’ leaders about where they, their children and their grandchildren studied or are studying. He also targeted Pawan Kalyan and asked Where Mr. Kalyan’s four sons from three wives are going to take their education.

Pawan Kalyan, during his press meet, retorted he never went to jail due to his three marriages, indirectly taking a dig at Jagan Mohan Reddy, who went to jail several times.  However, Mr. Kalyan stopped himself from making any personal comments as he said it could be a deviation from the actual problem. The press meet was organised to discuss the AP sand crisis.

Over the past few days, the AP sand crisis became a major issue in the State.

Pawan Kalyan highlighted the effect of the sand crisis on construction labourers, who are unemployed and are committing suicide.  He also spoke about the inexperienced administration of the Jagan Mohan Reddy led Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)

Pawan Kalyan said, “It seems Jagan Mohan Reddy is scared of me and I will fight for the people’s problems till my last breath.”

Despite the sand shortage issue, Pawan Kalyan also spoke about the introduction of English medium in public schools.  Pawan Kalyan said Andhra Pradesh is a ‘linguistic state’ and should have Telugu medium education at least for primary classes.  He said, “I am not a person who is scared of your factionism.”

Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India, was amongst those who criticised the conversion of government schools to English medium and Jagan Mohan Reddy reportedly criticised him.  Pawan Kalyan also lashed out at Jagan Mohan Reddy for disrespecting Venkaiah Naidu.

Pawan Kalyan’s press meet began at 4:00 P.M., on the 12th of November, in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh.

JanaSena Party leaders and workers were present during the press meet.

Stay tuned for further updates.
