Mr. Pawan Kalyan, the President of the JanaSena Party responded to the recent drug issue in Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,)
On the 27th of October, Mr. Pawan Kalyan, posted a series of tweets highlighting the drug situation and drug menace in A.P. He said, the A.P., Government is not taking action on the drug issue and drug mafia seriously. He further said the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government led by Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is ignoring the spreading drug issue in the State.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan in a tweet said, “‘AP has become a drug hotspot & packed with numerous drug lords at every level.” He further said, “The entire nation is suffering as a result of the officials in control of the government’s willful inactivity.”
In a series of tweets, Mr. Pawan Kalyan shared his experience during 2018 padyatra and said, “As I had travelled extensively in AOB(Andhra Orissa border) in 2018 & locals told me there is an intricate criminal network, which they were scared to reveal. I hope Govt Of India should put an interstate Task-force under central Home ministry to curb the menace.
He even shared a video clip of the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Nalgonda district, Telangana, to prove his point. In the clip shared by Pawan Kalyan, Nalgonda SP Mr. A.V. Ranganath is seen saying, “Source of ganja is from AOB (Andhra Orissa Border.) From there it is being transported to other parts of the country. It’s a big problem of ganja over there and business worth several thousand crore is happening there and a lot of vested interests are there, including, financers, brokers, farmers and local leaders.”
The JanaSena Chief shared another video of a police official named Santosh Kumar Mishra from Delhi Police claiming that a huge amount of drugs comes from Visakhapatnam, A.P.
The video post of the police official was posted from the official Twitter handle of Mr. Pawan Kalyan with the caption, “Delhi police have seized huge amounts of ganja and in subsequent interrogation reveals , it came from Visakhapatnam, A.P.”
Besides Delhi, Telangana, even Rajasthan police said, a huge amount of drugs come from Visakhapatnam, A.P. In another tweet of Mr. Pawan Kalyan, he said, “AP – Narcotics hub of the Nation supplies Ganja to Pune , Mumbai and rest of the Maharashtra too. Maharashtra Police have seized the ganja shipment.”
The video clips of police officials from Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana were also posted on the official Twitter handle of Mr. Pawan Kalyan.

It is to be noted, the drug issue and narcotics consumption has become a huge issue in India. Every Indian state including the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana is taking precautions to control the drug menace in the region. In regard to this, the Hyderabad police launched an awareness campaign about the hazards and dangerous consequences of drugs.
However, according to Mr. Pawan Kalyan, the YSRCP Government is not serious about the matter and is showing negligence despite reports that Andhra Pradesh has become the hub of narcotics.
