Thammala Srinivas filed a petition against K.Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, alleging him of concealing the criminal cases against him in his affidavit.

According to the petitioner, KCR did not reveal an accurate number of criminal cases against him. According to the affidavit filed in 2018, Mr. Rao has 2 criminal cases against him, whereas the actual number is approximately 64.

Though KCR filed another affidavit with the mention of the other 62 cases, the petitioner sought action against KCR and the Returning Officer (RO) of Gajwel.

In 2018, KCR filed his nomination in the Gajwel constituency for the Telangana Assembly elections, which were held on the 7th of December.

KCR won the Assembly elections in the constituency, whereas the KCR led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won 89 seats out of the 119 seats in the Assembly elections.

The Telangana High Court, on the 27th of March, reviewed the petition against KCR and issued a notice to KCR, the RO of Gajwel, the District Election Officer (DEO) and the District Collector (DC) of Siddipet to come up with a response for the same.

The Telangana High Court then adjourned the case for four weeks.
