Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 4th of January, addressed the media and demanded the Andhra Pradesh Government withdraw its three capital proposal.

Mr. Naidu organised a press conference and criticised the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led Andhra Pradesh Government for proposing 3 State capitals.

Chandrababu Naidu demanded the unconditional withdrawal of the proposal which states the State capital will not just be Amaravati but Kurnool and Visakhapatnam as well.

Mr. Naidu also criticised the report of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) committee, stating the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) prepared the suggestions given by the BCG representatives.

Chandrababu Naidu also said one of the members of the G.N. Rao Committee admitted the report submitted to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was prepared as per the directions of Ajeya Kallam, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s principal advisor.

Meanwhile, the death toll of farmers in Amaravati increased to two.  The farmers of Amaravati who gave their land for the development of the State capital are demanding the withdrawal of the 3 capital proposal and have been protesting against the YSRCP Government for 17 days.

The protest is expected to continue until the State Government withdraws its proposal of having Amaravati, Visakhapatnam and Kurnool as Andhra Pradesh’s capitals.

However, the final call regarding the State’s capital is yet to be made.
