TDP Protest And Takes Rally Against YSRCP, Demands Compensation For Farmers

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh staged a dharna in support of the losses faced by the farmers, during the recent cyclone Nivar. 

On the 30th of November, the first day of the Winter Assembly session, leaders of the TDP held a dharna in the Assembly premises and raised slogans to support the farmers.

Nara Chandrababu, the National President of the TDP, along with the Party Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) reached the Assembly barefoot, carrying crops.

Criticising the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) for not alerting farmers, the TDP announced adjournment resolution. The resolution was announced in support of the Nivar and rain affected farmers in the State.

In addition, the TDP also demanded a lengthy

discussion on 20 issues such as employment guarantee arrears, housing distribution, sand policy, distribution of house site pattas, Polavaram and local body elections.

TDLP Deputy leader Nimmala Ramanaidu gave the adjournment motion.

The TDP said in the resolution that the Government had failed to alert farmers during the storm and demanded to support the farmers.

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly session started on the 30th of November and is likely to continue till the 4th of December.

However, an official announcement regarding the number of days of the session is yet to be made.
