The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is set to conduct their two day annual conclave, Mahanadu. Similar to 2020, this year also, the Party would conduct the event digitally with the participation of TDP leaders in Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

On the 24th of May, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the National President of the TDP, held a politburo meeting with the TDP leaders and Party State President. The politburo meeting was organised to discuss the arrangements for the annual conclave and the recent arrest of a TDP leader B.C. Janardhan Reddy.

The politburo members condemned the arrest of B.C. Janardhan Reddy and said, “The cases were lodged out of sheer political vendetta. The SC/ST Atrocities Act is being brazenly misused by the Jagan Mohan Reddy regime with no respect for the law of the land.”

During the politburo meeting, the TDP leaders strongly condemn the illegal arrest and targeting of TDP by the ruling YSRCP Government. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the former Chief Minister of A.P., said, “It is unfortunate that while the people are suffering greatly due to COVID-19, the Chief Minister’s priority is to settle political scores.” He further said, “What would have happened had the previous TDP regime embarked on a similar political vendetta against Mr. Jagan, who was already an accused in many illegal assets cases by that time?”

Yesterday’s, the 24th of May, meeting was attended by the TDP State President K. Atchannaidu, TDP leaders like R. Chandrasekhara Reddy, Varla Ramaiah, Ayyanna Patrudu, Chandramohan Reddy, Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Nakka Anand Babu and Bonda Umamaheswara Rao.

Meanwhile, the two day annual conclave Mahanadu is scheduled to be held on the 27th and the 28th of May, virtually. This is the second time, the TDP is organising the annual event virtually in the wake of the pandemic crisis of the Wuhan virus also known as theNovel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
