On the 25th of April, the Telangana High Court (HC,) adjourned the petition filed by Mr. Y.S. Avinash Reddy, in the YS Vivekananda Murder Case.
Notably, Mr. Avinash Reddy, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Member of Parliament (MP,) filed a petition for anticipatory bail, predicting arrest into the matter. The plea was filed in the Telangana High Court earlier, following which he was relieved from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrest till the 25th of April. On Tuesday again, the lawyer of Avinash, on behalf of him filed a plea seeking protection from the arrestl.
However, the Telangana High Court bench adjourned the matter to the 26th of April.
Notably, in 2019, Mr. Vivekananda Reddy, the uncle of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was stabbed to death at his residence in Pulivendula. The major reason behind the murder is said to be the 2019 Assembly elections, in which Mr. Vivekananda Reddy was contesting on the YSRCP ticket.
After the Supreme Court orders, recently in 2023, the Hyderabad Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) started the investigation in a fresh manner. Continuing with the investigation of the four year old murder case, the CBI questioned Mr. Y.S. Avinash Reddy, the Member of Parliament (MP) Of YSRCP and his father Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy. In the latest development, on the 16th of April, the CBI arrested Mr. Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy, following which issued summons to Mr. Y.S. Avinash Reddy for investigation and interrogation.
