The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) announced the dates of a unique free mass marriages program, known as Kalyanamastu.

On the 18th of June, Saturday, the TTD Executive Officer (EO) Mr. A.V. Dharma Reddy announced the schedule of Kalyanamastu to be the 7th of August, 2022.  The program of free marriage, for which the expenses would be borne by the TTD, would happen in all the 26 district headquarters of Andhra Pradesh.

Furthermore, the TTD Board said, the weddings would be conducted at an auspicious Muhurtham between 8:07 A.M., and 8:17 A.M., on the 7th of August.

The announcement came after the Kalyanamastu Muhurta Patrika was taken in a procession from Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple to Tirumala temple, on the 17th of June, Friday.  During the event, the priests placed the Patrika at the holy feet of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy seeking His divine blessings for the successful conduct of the program.

Later, a special puja was also performed, after which Mr. A.V. Dharma Reddy addressed the media and said, “The TTD has resumed this noble program after a decade.  This prestigious program will be observed initially at all the district HQs across Andhra Pradesh.  With the blessings of Srivaru, the poor parents who could not afford to perform the marriages of their children can now conduct them without any financial burden.  Those who are willing to enter the nuptial knot shall have to register their names and the process begins from July 1 onwards.”

The TTD officials like Mr. Sada Bhargavi, Mr. Veerabrahmam, the Deputy EO of Srivari temple Mr. Ramesh Babu, All Projects program officer Mr. Vijayasaradhi, Agama Advisor Vedantham Vishnu Bhattacharyulu and others were present.
