Amaravati: Leading US-based organizations Pegasus Capital Advisors and Producers Trust have expressed their commitment to supporting organic farming in Andhra Pradesh. Their representatives met with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat, where they discussed strategies to enhance sustainable agriculture and promote natural farming.
Pegasus Capital Advisors Chairman Craig Cougt, Operating Advisor Gina McCarthy, and Producers Trust CEO Keith Agoada explored collaboration opportunities with the State Government. Discussions focused on raising awareness among farmers, encouraging alternative crops, establishing an end-to-end farmer-to-consumer system, developing markets, securing financing, managing agricultural data, and improving infrastructure.
The US firms expressed their willingness to facilitate financial assistance from public and private sectors and support Andhra Pradesh in becoming a Global Centre of Excellence for Organic Farming. To formalize this commitment, Pegasus Capital Advisors and Producers Trust signed an MoU with Rythu Sadhikaritha Samshtha, a state government body.
This collaboration follows Chandrababu Naidu’s recent visit to Davos, where he invited global firms to invest in natural farming. The Chief Minister emphasized the growing demand for organic food, the importance of certification and traceability, and his vision of making Andhra Pradesh a leader in sustainable agriculture.
