K. Kala Venkata Rao, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 25th of February, wrote an open letter to K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana.
In his letter, Mr. Rao accused KCR of conspiring to form a ‘puppet’ government in Andhra Pradesh, ahead of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.
In his letter, Venkata Rao asked 22 questions to KCR regarding the growing friendship between the latter and Jagan Mohan Reddy, the President of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)
Mr. Rao wrote, “You have insulted our race, language, culture and even our cuisine. To protect your political future and selfish politics you have joined hands with a big thief.”
Mr. Rao said, the growing friendship between KCR and Jagan is nothing but their evil intentions towards the citizens of Andhra Pradesh. Venkata Rao criticised KCR and said, KCR defames N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, to ensure Jagan Mohan Reddy’s victory in the elections.
Venkata Rao also claimed, KCR’s motive behind the friendship is to divert the water from Srisailam, Nagarjunasagar, Krishna and Godavari to turn Andhra Pradesh into a barren land.
The TDP President further said, KCR knows doing so is not possible with the TDP Government ruling Andhra Pradesh and due to this, the KCR led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is helping Jagan win the State Assembly elections.
The Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections are scheduled between April and May 2019. The State will contest 175 Assembly seats and the major parties contesting are the TDP, the YSRCP and the JanaSena Party.
