Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India, on the 24th of December, attended the convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tadepalligudem in Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

During the convocation ceremony, the Vice President of India addressed the students and emphasised on the need for enhancing ourselves so that we could be ideal for one another.

Mr. Naidu said one needs to explore technologies and new ideas to implement for the development of the State and the district.

He added technology needs to be explored and new ideas and ways are needed to implement them.  Mr. Naidu said, “The resources are available, our job is to make use of them.” He further added, “It is essential that we strike that balance. Our development has to be sustainable. Let conservation be the cornerstone of every single one of your innovations.”

Venkaiah Naidu urged the students to enhance agriculture with the use of technologies and new ideas for the State as well as for the Nation.  He said in the upcoming days, when there may be less food and water, engineers and scientists could help in eliminating scarcity of food and water using their innovative ideas and technologies.

Venkaiah Naidu was invited as the Chief Guest for the 1st convocation ceremony of NIT, situated in West Godavari district, A.P.  NIT, Andhra Pradesh, is the 31st NIT under the Indian Government.  The Government of India (GoI) inaugurated the institution in the academic year 2015-2016.

While Venkaiah Naidu was the Chief Guest, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, the Governor of A.P., was the Guest of Honour at the event.

Ranganadha Raju, the Minister of Housing, Taneti Vanita, the Minister of Women and Child Welfare, Prof. C.S.P. Rao, the Director of NIT Tadepalligudem and other professors and officials of NIT attended the convocation ceremony.
