Ms. G. Hari Venkata Kumari, the Mayor of Visakhapatnam, appealed to the people of Visakhapatnam to work hard to control pollution and protect the environment.
On the 10th of July, Monday, Ms. Hari Venkata Kumari reached the Greater Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Corporation (GVMC) office, using the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus. She took the public transport from her camp office as part of the vehicle free observance day.
Furthermore, Ms. G. Hari Venkata Kumari encouraged people to follow no vehicle day on a regular basis. The remarks and appeal came after completing ‘Dial Your Mayor’, ‘Jagananna Chebudam’ and other programmes, organized in the city.
The Mayor used a RTC bus to return to the camp office and made an appeal to all the GVMC employees to use the public transport, once in a week, especially on Mondays. She also appealed to the citizens of Visakhapatnam who has vehicles to ditch their cars and use the APSRTC buses in the region for their commute.
