Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, announced an ex gratia of Rs. 2 lakh to those, who died in the Kandukur Incident, on the night of the 28th of December.

On the 29th of December, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister expressed grief over the demise of 8 people and announced the compensation amount given by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) led State Government.

It is to be noted, on the 28th of December, Wednesday, 8 people including two women, lost their lives due to a stampede situation in Kandupur, Nellore.   The incident occurred during the road show of Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the National President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the Kandupur region of Nellore district.  The eight deceased were said to be TDP workers, who were present to attend the meeting and died due to suffocation and shock amid the stampede situation.

Besides eight people’s death, many people were left injured due to the heavy rush of people who gathered to attend the roadshow on Wednesday night.

Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is in Delhi expressed grief and ordered the concerned government officials to provide the announced compensation to the families of the deceased.  In addition, the YSRCP President Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also announced an amount of Rs. 50,000 for those who got injured in the Kandupur stampede incident.  In addition to Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Mr. Bishwabhushan Harichandan, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, also expressed his deepest condolences over the demise of eight people and those injured in the Kandupur incident.

On the other hand, expressing grief, Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu also announced an ex gratia of Rs. 10 lahks to the families of those who lost their kin in the stampede incident.  He also assured the education of the kids of those who died in the incident at the NTR Trust Education institutions.

Furthermore, the funeral of all the 8 TDP workers who died in the Kandupur Public meeting stampede incident is said to be held on the 29th of December, Thursday.  Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu has asked all the TDP leaders to mandatorily attend the funeral of those who lost lives at the overcrowded venue of the TDP Public Meeting.
