YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Approves Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) on the 25th of February, approved the metro rail project in Visakhapatnam, A.P.

This is not the first time, the Metro Rail Project has been proposed for approval.  Previously also, the State Government planned the Visakhapatnam metro rail, but Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy halted the proposal and asked for a revision in the blueprint of the metro construction.

According to the revised proposal, the Metro Project would be of 140.13 kilometres in 10 corridors in 10 phases.  The first phase would cover 46.40 km distance with a stretch of 34.23 km from Steel Plant to Kommadi. The other phases would be 5.26 km from Gurdwara to Old Post Office and 6.91 km from Tadicherla Palame to RK Beach.

The Visakhapatnam Rail Project is expected to be completed by 2024.
