Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) on the 5th of December, attended the inauguration of a Kia Motors factory in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Reddy was the chief guest at the grand celebration organised in a village of Anantapur district.
The factory set up by Kia Motors would provide employment to many local youth and increase the future chances of industrialisation in Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Reddy expressed his happiness about the setting up of the Kia Motors plant in Anantapur. He said, “Special thanks to Kia ownership for setting up such a large industry in AP.”
After the inauguration ceremony, Jagan Mohan Reddy, accompanied by Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) officials, inspected the processes and functioning of the Company.
Kia Motors set up the factory at a cost of Rs. 13,500 crores, which would help the State Government achieve its 75 % local reservation policy for job seekers.
As of now, the factory decided to appoint as many as 12,835 workers, out of which, 7,029 people would be employed solely from Anantapur.
The Andhra Pradesh Government would train all the appointed employees before they join the workplace.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is expected to return to Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh, on the evening of the 5th of December.
