YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Launches Jaganna Vasati Deevana Scheme

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) is going to launch the Jaganna Vasati Deevana scheme in Vizianagaram district, A.P.

On the 24th of February, Mr. Reddy is scheduled to launch  the scheme which would provide meals to students of government colleges in A.P. 

An official statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO,) said, “A total of 11.87 lakh ITI, Polytechnic, Degree, PG (post graduate) and Ph.D students will be benefited through out the State, which is estimated to cost Rs. 2,278 crore per year.”

Under the scheme, the students of the aforementioned categories would get financial assistance from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government.

According to sources, the A.P., Education Department officials would provide Rs. 10,000 for ITI Students, Rs. 15,000 for Polytechnic Students, Rs. 20,000 for Degree Candidates.  The State Government would release the amount in the bank accounts of the guardian of the eligible students. The calculated amount would be credited twice in a year, in the month of February and next in the month of July.  As many as 1,198 lakh students would take advantage of the new scheme, which is starting from the 24th of February.

The YSRCP Government arranged tight security for the CM’s visit in Vizianagaram, A.P.  Besides the Jaganna Vasati Deevana scheme, Jagan Mohan Reddy is also going to launch one more Disha police station in the State.
