Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the 29th of July, released the Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme funds.

On Thursday, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) President released an amount of Rs. 693.81 crores for the second installment of the funds. The first installment was released in April 2021.

The Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme has been launched to help underprivileged students in order to pay their fees for schools and colleges. The amount was deposited directly to the bank accounts of mothers of the wards through online mode.

The launch event took place at the YSRCP Camp Office in Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh. The Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme benefits 10.97 lakh students in the State.

Speaking at the occasion, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “At each step, we’re enthusiastic about the way forward for the scholars. My motto is that everybody ought to research effectively. As part of this, we began one other good program referred to as Jagannanna Vidya Divena. We are implementing schooling without the burden on mother and father. We are in a position to do all this with the blessings of God. Our authorities’ aim is to make schooling accessible to each poor scholar. As quickly as we come to energy, we’re giving 100% charge reimbursement for the way forward for the scholars.”

In 2019-2020 the Andhra Pradesh Government released an amount of Rs. 4,207.85 crores under the scheme. In April, the State Government released an amount of Rs. 671.45 crores.

With this, so far, the YSRCP Government released a total of Rs. 26,677 crores for the scheme.

It is to be noted, previously the money was paid directly to college owners, but since April, then State Government is crediting the amount to the mother’s accounts as they could have better supervision on the college facilities and students’ wellbeing.

In addition, the State Government set up a help desk and beneficiaries were advised to call on the 1902 toll free number.
