Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, conducted a review of the heavy rains in Anantapur.  The meeting was held with the concerned officials of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) from the Anantapur region, at the YSRCP camp office in Tadepalli. 

During the meeting held on the 12th of October, Wednesday, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered the officials to stand by those displaced due to rains and floods.  He also issued orders to provide immediate assistance to the affected families at the rate of Rs. 2,000 each and suggested providing essential items to the affected families.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister also asked officials to assess the property and crop damaged due to rains and to ensure the necessary compensation to the affected families. 

It is to be noted, the Anantapur region is witnessing heavy to very heavy rainfall since the 11th of October afternoon, causing trouble to residents, especially those in low lying areas.  The continuous rainfall resulted in flood like situations in several areas, following which the YSRCP Government set up three rehabilitation centres, where people are being shifted.

Anantapur and Raptadu Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) Mr. Ananta Venkatrami Reddy, Mr. Topudurthi Prakash Reddy, Member of the Parliament (MP) Mr. Gorantla Madhav, Collector Ms. Nagalakshmi, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr. Srinivasulu and others were engaged in relief activities in Anantapur. 

The revenue staff and local public representatives also helped and arranged food, fresh water facilities for the flood victims.

The rescue and relief operations amid the Anantapur floods are still underway in the region.
