Amaravati: YS Sharmila has issued a strong statement against her brother and former AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy through a three-page open letter directed to YSR fans. In the letter, Sharmila addressed her concerns about family assets and criticized Jagan’s handling of their late father YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s legacy.
Referring to a recent article in Sakshi media, which is owned by Jagan, Sharmila claimed the publication doesn’t represent her perspective on the family assets. She emphasized that her late father, YSR, had always intended for the family businesses created during his lifetime to be equally divided among all four grandchildren.
Equal Division Mandated by YSR
Sharmila asserted that YSR’s wish was for all grandchildren to receive an equal share in the family businesses, including ventures like Saraswati Power, Bharathi Cements, Sakshi Media, Classic Realty, and the Yelahanka property. According to her, Jagan is responsible only as the “guardian” of these assets and should facilitate an equal division, as outlined by YSR’s wishes. She mentioned that YSR’s intentions were well known among close family friends and allies, including KVP Ramachandra Rao, YV Subba Reddy, and Vijay Sai Reddy.
Claims of Misrepresentation and Lack of Personal Ownership
Sharmila argued that Jagan’s portrayal of these businesses as his own is misleading, stating that except for a single property transfer in Sandur, there were no other transfers of property during YSR’s lifetime. She claimed that while some assets are in her name, these were symbolic and do not represent a proper distribution of property. She further argued that the suggestion she is asking for Jagan’s personal assets is false, as the properties in question are family assets intended for equal distribution.
In closing, Sharmila reiterated her commitment to ensuring YSR’s legacy of equality and fairness in the division of family assets and clarified her stance to YSR fans.
