Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) on the 24th of October, announced the merging of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) with AP Government.
The decision came after a meeting with the Transport Department officials of the State. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy appointed a working committee to complete the merger process.
The committee comprises members from the Finance Department, General Administration Department, Transport and Judiciary Department.
Jagan Mohan Reddy asked the committee members to focus mainly on the Public Transport Department and arrangements for identifying employees for the APSRTC.
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) will also take the necessary steps and decisions regarding the salaries and pay scale of the APSRTC employees.
The committee was asked to submit a proper report with all the measures and suggestions on the 15th of November, following which, the merger process would begin.
