Amaravati: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) expressed deep disappointment over R. Krishnaiah’s decision to join forces with TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, calling it a betrayal to the Backward Classes (BC) community. In a statement issued by former ministers P. Anil Kumar Yadav and K. Karmuri Nageswar Rao, the YSRCP described Krishnaiah’s move as unfortunate, accusing Chandrababu of destabilizing the state by purchasing opposition members to cover up his governance failures.
The party highlighted that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, former Chief Minister, had appointed Krishnaiah with the hope that he would work for the upliftment of BC communities. Despite having numerous capable leaders, YS Jagan trusted Krishnaiah and offered him a Rajya Sabha seat to represent the BC voice in Parliament. However, Krishnaiah’s alignment with Chandrababu Naidu has harmed the trust and respect placed in him by both the party and the public.
YSRCP emphasized that the public is aware of Chandrababu’s tactics and Krishnaiah’s resignation, stating that such moves would not weaken the party. The party expressed confidence that the people will strongly respond to this betrayal in due time.
