The new strain of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 created panic in India and governments of several states.

Despite ban on flights from and to the United Kingdom from the 23rd of December, several people came back to India ahead.

In less than 24 hours, nearly 150 people visited India from the U.K., being COVID-19 positive.

The suspect of the new coronavirus strain has also caused a stir in Rajahmundry during this period. In the Rajahmundry airport, a woman from the U.K., tested positive for the virus. She and her family were immediately rushed to an isolation center.

When asked about the situation of the new strain of the virus in the State, the Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Alla Nani said that whether the women Infected with the new virus is being tested and urged people need not worry stating that the State Government is taking all possible measures to prevent the Coronavirus’s second wave in the state.

Mr. Nani said, “We spoke to the East Godavari District DMHO on the phone this morning and found out the details. A woman named Mary Winfred Ann from Delhi came from the UK. It was reported at the Delhi airport that she had tested corona positive.”

The A.P., Medical Health Department said people should not be worried about the new type of Coronavirus. The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government is fully vigilant and is taking all precautions in advance and the people are advised to follow the rules and precautions.

The State Health Department also made it clear that the A.P., Government was fully vigilant in the case of the covid 19 second wave. The state medical health department said it had taken precautions in the AP in line with the Central Government guidelines.

On the other hand, the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has reportedly directed the state government to focus on passenger traffic as covid 19 is expected to spread the new variant through passengers. AP officials said they are conducting COVID-19 tests on those who came to the state from abroad in this context.
