The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) on the 30th of October, conducted a Cabinet meeting and took a few key decisions for the welfare and development of Andhra Pradesh’s citizens.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, chaired the meeting and introduced key schemes, including Amma Vodi, which would provide financial assistance to pregnant women.

According to the Amma Vodi scheme, to take care of their children, pregnant women would get Rs. 15,000 assistance from the YSRCP Government every month.

Apart from this, the Cabinet also decided to distribute quality seeds and fertilizers among farmers and set up agricultural labs in rural areas.  The Cabinet also discussed the issue of shortage of sand in Andhra Pradesh.

During the meeting, the YSRCP also approved a pilot project.  Under this project, every month, the Government would provide nutritious food worth Rs. 1,062 to pregnant women, even after their deliveries.  The project is expected to be implemented in December.

The pilot project is worth Rs. 90 crores and would be implemented in 77 mandals.

Other schemes and decisions approved during the Cabinet meeting were:

  • AP Advocates’ Welfare Fund Act.
  • Increase the financial assistance to Haj and Jerusalem pilgrims.
  • Introduce lifetime achievement awards for individuals, with a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakhs.
  • Clean the Krishna and Godavari rivers with special equipment.
  • Recruitment for special posts in the Home Department of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Launch corporations for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Backward Classes (BCs.) 

Cabinet ministers, YSRCP leaders and various departments’ officials were present during the Cabinet meeting.
