Jithender Reddy, a Member of Parliament (MP) of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) on the 27th of March, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) ahead of the Telangana Lok Sabha elections.

Mr. Reddy, disappointed with the TRS, quit the Party and joined the BJP in the presence of Amit Shah, the President of the BJP, in Delhi.

Speaking about the disappointment, Jithender Reddy said, the Party refused to give him a TRS ticket to contest the Lok Sabha elections, following which, he quit the Party.

However, the TRS denied the allegations and said, Jithender was thinking of quitting the Party for a few months. Following his behaviour of not cooperating with the Party after the Assembly elections, the Party took the decision of not giving him a TRS ticket.

Jithender Reddy is the current MP of the Mahbubnagar constituency, for which the TRS instead nominated Manne Srinivas Reddy as a MP candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Telangana will contest for 17 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 11th of April 2019.

The major parties contesting the Telangana Lok Sabha elections are the TRS, the BJP and the Indian National Congress (INC.)

The results of the Telangana Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.

Stay tuned for further updates about the Telangana Lok Sabha elections.
