In the wake of the second wave of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases in Telangana, the State political party took an initiative to help the citizens of the State.

The All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in collaboration with the  Majlis Charity Educational and Relief Trust and Access Foundation launched a helpline to reach out to Covid-19 affected families.

During the launch, the AIMIM President Asaduddeen Owaisi said, “Depending upon the requirement as suggested by the doctors, medicines and oxygen cylinders would be provided to the patient.”

The helpline service would be available for the public starting from the 26th of April.  A team of doctors, medical facilities, ambulance and other COVID-19 related issues would be guided and provided through this helpline number.  People can contact the helpline on 73066-00600 from 6 A.M., till midnight.  Suggestion and guidance given to the patients would be from experts.  Whereas, the local doctors available through the helpline number would be assisted by the Deccan Alumni of North America (DANA) doctors team.

Mr. Asaduddeen Owaisi, who launched the COVID-19 War Room (Storage space for equipment) also said, “We will try to provide the medicine or the oxygen cylinder at the doorstep of the patient.”  He further added,

“In the next few days, the DANA will provide online counseling to the patients and the helpline will be functional round the clock.”

As of now, the helpline team has a stock of 250 oxygen cylinders and sufficient medicines for COVID-19 Patients.  These emergency medical stock has been stored at COVID-19 War Room set up at the Aghapura function hall.

The launch of the helpline service in Hyderabad came at a time when the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is witnessing the highest number of COVID-19 cases.  Of all the other regions of Telangana, the GHMC limit is reporting more than 1,000 cases on a regular basis, making Hyderabad one of the worst COVID-19 hit districts.
