On the 21st of July, the Andhra Pradesh police organised a closing ceremony of the sixth instalment of Operation Muskan COVID-19 Phase.
The event was organised at the office of Gautam Sawang, the Director General of Police ( DGP,) Andhra Pradesh.
The newly launched, Muskan COVID-19 mission was an initiative to conduct the Novel Coronavirus tests for children on roads.
Mr. Sawang said, “Muskan in the last five instalments has been a hit and reached new heights this time.”
The mission was conducted for a week and tested nearly 5,000 tests for kids in various places of Andhra Pradesh
DGP Sawang also said how the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy lauded the performance of officials involved in operation Muskan saving thousands of children and bringing joy and satisfaction to them.
Gautam Sawang said, “We reunited the son with the mother after four years as part of Operation Muskan covid-19 and able to save a lot of people from covid through Coronavirus tests.”
DGP Gautam Sawang also congratulated the Muskan teams for moving forward with coordination and achieving the target.
A total of 4806 people were rescued through the operation wherein 278 child labourers were rescued in which 73 were identified as those belonging to other states.
