On the 22nd of June, the Telangana Health Department issued government order (GO) 40 and reduced the price for the treatment of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government capping the treatment cost for Covid-19 patients at privat hospitals. The private hospitals could charge a maximum of Rs 4,000 per day for providing treatment in general and isolation wards. For treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Rs. 7,500 per day was fixed and Rs. 9,000 for putting the patient on ventilator in the ICU.
The GO also fixed prices for PPE kits, digital x-ray, HRCT scan, D-dimer blood test, and IL6. Hospitals should not charge more than Rs 1,995 for CT scan and Rs 1,300 for digital x-ray.
The decision was taken to ease treatment price for people of Telangana.
Meanwhile, Telangana has 6,15,574 positive cases, of which 16,640 are active cases, 5,95,348 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,586 are deceased cases.
