COVID-19 Vaccine Data: India Administers More Than 107 Crore Vaccine Doses, Details Here

Till the 3rd of November, India administered more than 107 crore vaccine doses against the deadly Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)

The vaccine against the Wuhan virus is being given to people above 18 years old, including healthcare and frontline workers. In addition, more than 41.16 lakh (41,16,230) vaccine doses have been given in the last 24 hours alone.

Meanwhile, highlighting the state wise data, Uttar Pradesh administered the most (cumulative) vaccine doses at 13.01 crore, followed by Maharashtra at 9.80 crore, West Bengal 7.80 crores, Gujarat at 7.10 crores, Madhya Pradesh 7.10 crore and Bihar 6.80 crores.

Total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses given to states and union territories (UTs) : 1,07,29,66,315.

According to the Union Health Ministry data, of the total vaccinated people, 71 % are those who received their first doses, the remaining 29 % of the people are fully vaccinated with two doses.

In India, the nationwide vaccination drive against the COVID-19 started on the 16th of January, 2021. In just 10 months, India administered over 107 crores doses, covering 21 % of the total population. By the end of December, India is aiming to surpass the 30 % population by administering 120 crores doses.

India is also expected to soon roll out the vaccination drive for children between 12 to 18 years old. The World Health Organisation (WHO) is expected to examine the two India made vaccines, which are conducting trials for children, following which there would be a vaccine against the Wuhan virus for children too.

As of now, more than 13.76 crore COVID-19 vaccines are available in India.
