On the 27th of May, the Chief Secretary of Telangana Somesh Kumar visited the State run ENT Hospital in Hyderabad. During the visit, Mr. Somesh Kumar interacted with the people infected by Black Fungus and asked about the facilities at the hospital.
The visit to the hospital was made as per the directions of K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana. Besides ENT Hospital, Mr. Kumar also visited the Koti government hospital and reviewed the situation on the treatment of the Black Fungus. He met with the doctors and discussed the medicines and treatment being given to the Black Fungus patients.
It is to be noted, the State run ENT Hospital and Koti Hospital are identified as the nodal hospitals for the treatment of the Black Fungus infection.
Somesh Kumar asked all the patients to be strong and assured proper treatment provided by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government. He said all the necessary measures would be taken by the ruling Government to ensure best treatment. Speaking on behalf of the TRS Government, Somesh Kumar assured all the necessary measures to extend best treatment, curtail the rising number of cases and urged patients not to panic. He also informed that the present situation is under control and stabilized in terms of the Wuhan virus pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Government has declared Black Fungus as the Epidemic disease under the Epidemic Act 2005. In addition, currently the State has a total of 744 cases of the Black Fungus infection.
