The Delhi Government, led by the Aam Aadmi. Party (AAP) announced a night curfew in the National Capital. On the 19th of April, Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, imposed a complete curfew from today till Monday, the 26th of April.

The decision was taken by the AAP Government in the wake of the rising number of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases. The National Capital of India reported the COVID-19 positivity rate at 30%, making it the worst affected region after Maharashtra.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Union Territory (UT) surged COVID-19 cases in Mumbai. The region of Delhi is reporting everyday cases above 25,000. Until now, the curfew was limited to nights only and lockdown was imposed on weekends.

However, with the recent highest single day cases of COVID-19 (25,462) the AAP issued orders of curfew from midnight today till 5:00 A.M., of the 26th of April.
