After many days of witnessing more than 55,000 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, India on the 11th of August, recorded less than 55,000 single day cases.
From the last two weeks, India was recording approximately 55,000 new cases.
However, on the 11th of August, the Union Health Ministry confirmed 53,601 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus
According to the released data, 10 states reported 80% of the infection in India.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka are the top four states with the highest number of cases in India.
COVID-19 cases in these states:
Maharashtra: 1,47,735
Tamil Nadu: 53,099
Andhra Pradesh: 87,773
Karnataka: 79,907
According to the data, out of all, 35 districts in India did not report any COVID-19 cases in the past 14 to 21 days. In addition, 11 more districts recorded zero new COVID-19 cases in the past 14 to 7 days.

Fresh cases in 24 hours: 53,601

The Union Health Ministry said the aggressive strategy of tracing, testing and treating worked well with India, increasing the number of recoveries to 1.5 millions till date.
The recovery rate in India stand at 69.80 % from the previous 68.10 %.
However, India’s share in global COVID-19 numbers hit a new peak. Approximately 29% of all new cases worldwide and 21% of all deaths from the virus reported were from India. India.
This is the highest share of global cases so far in August.
Meanwhile, globally, the Novel Coronavirus cases infected as many as 20,256,547 people and claimed 7,38,937 people till date.
