This is the highest single day COVID-19 cases, reported in the past 146 days. With this, the number of active cases of the infection climbed to 8,601, confirmed the Union Health Ministry.
On Saturday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) confirmed the new cases with 6 deaths, reported in the past 24 hours. The death toll due to the viral disease has gone up to 5,30,824 with six more fatalities, three reported from Maharashtra and one each recorded in Karnataka, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.
In addition, the daily positivity was recorded at 1.33% while the weekly positivity was pegged at 1.23%.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare held a high level meeting and asked the state governments to take the necessary measure to combat the rise of COVID-19 cases. In addition, recently, Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, also chaired a high level meeting and discussed the rising number of the Wuhan Virus cases, which is raising alarming concern in India.
