On the 23rd of September, India reported a total of 31,923 new cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.) In addition to the new cases, the nation reported 31,990 recoveries and 282 deaths due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours.
With this, India now has 3,35,63,421 positive cases of which 3,01,604 are active cases, 3,28,15,731 are recovered/discharged cases and 4,46,050 deceased cases. The total number of new cases were reported after conducting 15,27,443 sample tests, taking the tally to 55,83,67,013 till date. The data of COVID-19 sample tests were confirmed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR.)
The updated figures of the deadly Wuhan virus were updated by the Union Health Ministry and are available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
According to sources, Kerala still has the highest number of single day COVID-19 cases and reported 19,675 new cases in the past 24 hours. It is also the State with the highest number of active cases (1,61067,) followed by Maharashtra (39,984,) Tamil Nadu 17,027,) Andhra Pradesh (13,796) and Karnataka (13,621.) In the Southern states, Telangana is the only State with less than 5,000 active cases (4,946.)
Meanwhile, on the 23rd of September, India also crossed a milestone and administered COVID-19 vaccine doses to 83.39 crores (83,39,90,049) people, including 71,38,205 doses in the past 24 hours.
With this, the Country reported 97.77 % recovery rate, 1.33 % fatality rate and 0.90 % active case rate.
