India Reports Highest 3.79 Lakh New COVID-19 Cases, Deaths Surge 2.4 Lakhs With 3.6 K New Deaths

The Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases are rising rapidly in India with the highest single day spike. 

In the past 24 hours, India reported 3.79 lakh new cases, the highest single day cases since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. In addition to the increased single day COVID-19 cases spike, the Nation also reported the highest, 3.6k single day deaths.

On the morning of the 29th of April, the Union Health MinistryUnion Health Ministry released official data to update about the new COVID-19 cases. According to the data, India reported 3,79,257 new cases, 3,645 deaths and 2,69,507 recoveries.

The updated data is available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.) This is the 8th consecutive day when India reported more than 3 lakh single day spike.

With this, till the 29th of April, India has 18,376,524 positive cases, of which 30,84,814 are active cases, 15,086,878 are recovered/discharged cases and 2,04,832 people are deceased cases. 2,04,832 people are deceased cases. 

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as many as 28,44,71,979 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till the 29th of April. Of these 17,68,190 samples were tested on the 28th of April, Wednesday across India.

In addition, the total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered stand at 15,00,20,648 in India.

Meanwhile, globally there are 149 million positive cases and 3.5 million deaths due to COVID-19. While the United States of America (U.S.A.,) is the worst hit nation with 32.5 million cases, followed by India with 18 million cases.
