K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, assured vaccination against the Wuhan virus to everyone by December 2021.

During an inauguration event at Vemulawada, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Minister said, the Central Government controls nearly 85 % of the total manufactured vaccinations. Despite being the hub of the Wuhan virus/COVID-19 vaccination, the State has control over only 15 % of vaccination.

KTR said, “Everyone knows that Hyderabad is the vaccine capital of the world and has the capacity to manufacture vaccines required for the entire world.” Blaming the Central Government for the shortage of vaccines, KTR said, “It (Centre) took 85 % of the production under its control and gave only 15 % of what was produced here to the state and private hospitals. There is no foresight on the part of the Central government led by Narendra Modi. Without thinking about the future needs of the people of this country, it exported vaccines to other countries and supplied limited doses to states. Companies producing the vaccines are fixing different prices for the Centre and the states.”

However, the TRS Government assured to vaccinate everyone in Telangana through a global tender project. With this project, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS would procure 10 million plus doses of vaccines for the people. Under the global tender project, the Government would be able to complete vaccination of everyone by the end of 2021.

Meanwhile, in Vemulawada, KTR inaugurated a 100 bed hospital with necessary equipment and medical facilities at a cost of Rs. 22 crores. When asked about the new hospital and additional beds, KTR said the hospital was established in response to a request made to the Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao. The TRS Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA,) Ramesh Babu wanted better medical facilities for the people of Vemulawada, following which the State Government immediately arranged 100 beds with medical facilities for COVID-19 patients.

The Minister extended gratitude to the District Collector Krishna Bhaskar and Medical Officer Mahesh Rao for completing the required arrangements of the hospital in a speedy manner.

In addition, the TRS Government is also planning to set up an oxygen plant in Vemulawada in the next 10 days. The new plant would be located on the lines of Sircilla Government Hospital at a cost of Rs. 40 lakh.

Considering the third wave of the Wuhan virus to be dangerous for children, KTR asked the concerned officials to prepare COVID-19 ward with beds dedicated to children in Vemulawada.

The new arrangements of the 100 COVID-19 bed facility is operational in Vemulawada region of Sircilla district, Telangana.
