Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India is expected to hold a high-level meeting with chief ministers (CMs) of India.
The meeting is likely to be held on the 13th of January, Thursday, over the current Wuhan virus, also known as the COVID-19 situation in India. The meeting came at a time when the nation is suffering from the rising Wuhan virus cases and its new variant, the Omicron.
As of now, India is reporting over 1.50 lakh COVID-19 cases, regularly, taking the active case rally to over 5 lakh from the previous below 2 lakh cases in just one month. In addition, the Omicron cases are also rising rapidly with over 3,000 cases in India, to date.
In addition, the meeting with Indian state CMs came days after the Prime Minister held a meeting with concerned Health Department officials and the Union Health Ministry. During the meeting, the officials discussed the COVID-19 situation, the spread of the Omicron variant, and the vaccination drive for the third dose (precautionary dose) for senior
citizens with comorbidities and front-line warriors.
Meanwhile, on the first day of the vaccination drive, the 10th of January, India administered over 9 lakh precautionary doses also known as third dose or booster dose to front line warriors and senior citizens with comorbidities. The drive is still underway across India.
