After visiting Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 21st of May, visited the MGM Hospital in Warangal. During his visit, he inspected the Wuhan virus also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID- 19) situation at the MGM Hospital, Warangal, Telangana. 

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao toured Warangal and took a round of the COVID-19 ward inside the MGM hospital. The Chief Minister went around the ICU and general wards, interacted with the patients admitted there. He went to each and every bed and spoke with the patients and enquired about the treatment given, medicines administered and the quality of food being supplied.

KCR also inspected the sanitation maintained and other facilities at the hospital. He enquired with the doctors about the medical facilities and treatment given to the people. He also enquired with the hospital staff and nurses about the problems faced by them and appreciated them for rendering their services at a time of deadly pandemic.

The tour to the Warangal’s MGM Hospital was to explore the idea of shifting the Warangal Central Prison and setting up a health facility in its place. After visiting the hospital, he also went to the Warangal Jail and interacted with prisoners, saw their handloom products and spoke to police officials. He also said, the State Government is planning to convert the jail premises to a multi super specialty hospital with the latest technology, equipment and medical services. In addition, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) would construct the Warangal District Jail on the lines of Cherlapally on the outskirts of Warangal.

After taking over the Telangana Health Ministry from the former Health Minister Eatala Rajendar, K. Chandrashekar Rao has been busy touring hospitals providing treatment to the Wuhan virus infected people.

After Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad, MGM Hospital in Warangal, Mr. Rao is likely to visit and inspect other hospitals providing COVID-19 treatment. The visits of the Telangana CM came at a time, when the State is witnessing a second wave of the deadly Wuhan virus.

Till date, Telangana has 5,45,727 positive cases of the Wuhan virus, of which 44,395 are active cases.
