Telangana COVID-19 Single Day Spike Surge 500, Active Cases Close To 4k

The daily spike of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, surged 500 cases in Telangana on the 26th of March. 

In the past 24 hour, Telangana reported 518 new cases.  Of the total new cases, the highest were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 157 new cases, followed by 44 in Medchal Malkajgiri and 38 in Rangareddy districts. 

The remaining cases are from Nizamabad (29,) followed by Sangareddy (21,) Mahabubnagar (20,) Karimnagar (18,) Nalgonda (15,) Jagtial (13) and Suryapet (13).

In addition to 518 positive cases, the State reported 3 fatalities and 204 recoveries. 

With this, Telangana has 3,05,309 positive cases, of which 1,683 are deceased cases, 2,99,631 recovered/discharged cases and 3,995 are active cases.  Of the total 3,995 active cases, 1,767 are in home/institutional isolation.

In addition, the Telangana Health Department conducted as many as 57,548 tests in the last 24 hours for COVID-19.  Of themthose, 50,258 samples were tested in government laboratories and the remaining 7,290 in private.  With this, the number of tests conducted in the state so far climbed to 99,03,125. Samples tested per million population rose to 2,66,069.

The aforementioned data of the COVID-19 infection has been updated through a media bulletin.  The Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin for updating COVID-19 situation on a regular basis. 

According to the bulletin, Telangana has a recovery rate of 98.14 % and fatality rate at 0.55 %.
