On the 26th of December, the Telangana Health Department reported a total of 2,84,391 positive cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, till date.
As per the media health bulletin released on the night of the 25th of December, the State reported 317 fresh cases of the Novel Coronavirus. In addition, the State reported 536 recovery cases and 2 death cases of COVID-19.
Of the total new positive cases, the highest were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) with 71, followed by 27 Rangareddy, 25 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 17 from Sangareddy, 16 from Karimnagar, 11 each from Mancherial,Nalgonda and Warangal Urban and 9 each from Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nagarkurnool and Peddapalli.
The remaining cases were 8 each from Nizamabad and Siddipet, 6 each from Yadadri Bhongir, Warangal Rural, Vikarabad and Mahabubnagar, 5 each from Jagtial, Medak, Nirmal, Mulugu and Suryapet, 4 each from Adilabad and Jangaon, 3 each from Jogulamba Gadwal, Komarambheem Asifabad, one from Kamareddy.
Narayanpet district once again reported zero COVID-19 cases.
With the aforementioned data, Telangana has 2,84,391 positive cases, of which 2,76,244 are recovered/discharged cases, 6,618 are active cases and 1,529 deceased.
Meanwhile, between Thursday and Friday (the 24th and 25th of December) the State conducted 30,376 sample tests for COVID-19.
The tests include 13,365 on primary contacts and 3,645 on secondary contacts. The remaining tests were done in private hospitals, of which the results of 384 are pending.
So far, the State conducted 66,86,363 tests for the Novel Coronavirus infection.
The fatality rate of Telangana is 0.53 % and recovery rate is 97.13 %.
