During a recent Cabinet meeting of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) the State Government confirmed no lockdown or night curfew in the Telugu State.

On the 18th of January, Mr. T. Harish Rao, the Health Minister of Telangana, confirmed the Wuhan virus, also known as COVID-19 situation under control.  He said, the TRS Government is not planning any lockdown or night curfew in the State.  The number of COVID-19 cases are under control and hospitals are also ready to tackle the situation and rise in number of patients as of now.

The announcement came after the discussions during the Cabinet meeting held at Pragati Bhavan, Hyderabad.  During the meeting, the Cabinet said there was no need to impose a lockdown or night/weekend curfew in the state to check the spread of the Wuhan virus.

The Cabinet came to this conclusion following the report submitted by Mr. T. Harish Rao, who said the state had so far administered five crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines. The health department will soon administer vaccines to the remaining eligible citizens.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet directed the officials to complete the vaccination programme at the earliest with the help of municipal and Panchayat Raj departments. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao asked the ministers to hold meetings in all districts with district collectors and other officials to complete the vaccination programme.

Meanwhile, currently Telangana has over 4,000 active cases of Wuhan virus.
